I found a nice intro for a Song in BIAB Style.. Can I copy the first 2 bars & paste the 2 bars into a New song.. And how would I go about this???

Sorry, still need a more info - don't hold back. What is it it about the nice intro - is it the chords, the style, the specific way the BIAB renders the two measure? Are the intro tracks frozen? MIDI or RealTracks?

Hi , & thanks for your help.. The intro is to a song called 'Pop A Top' supposedly a guitar intro, but the rest of the chords are not what I need ... I could send you the file if you'd like to hear & see it.. one I recieved from a friend.. Hard for me to duplicate because I'm not a keyboard player, & don't know how to put in the notes manually.. If I could just save the first 2 bars, then I could put in the rest of the chords..
It doesn't look like the tracks are frozen..

If it is a BiaB songfile that has the Intro you wish to use, and if you haven't already laid out the songfile for the song you want to put the Intro into, why copy, paste or anything like that, why not just open the Intro songfile, then delete all bars except those first ones you want to be the Intro, then lay out the chords to the new song afterwards on the Chord Grid and use the little number boxes to the right of the Songtitle Window to establish the first bar position after that Intro plus number of choruses, etc. and then save it under a new name?

Ok, I tried that.. Deleted everything after Bar 2, but it still plays the chord progression, as if the bars were still marked.. I checked & the tracks aren't frozen..
I just checked, & it's a BIAB MGX file.

MGX suffix = There is a MIDI file embedded in that BiaB songfile.
You are probably hearing a MIDI file's Intro.
The green SEQ button, hit that and take a look there.

I looked in there Mac. There are 10 instruments checked under Play & Show. Split Channels on Leadsheet Notation is checked. And Custom Channels Play/Display is checked..Also Load/Save Channel Data With Song is checked.

Make sure that there is an X in front of the stylename in the Style window slot, so that BiaB won't generate her own accompaniment at the same time. If there is no X in front of the stylename at the present time, then RightClick on the Stylename and select, "disable style" from the little dropdown menu.
Then go to the File menu and choose, "Make a standard MIDI file"
Open that MIDI file in RealBand or Powertracks, highlight all of it but the first bar or two or three that is the Intro, and Delete all the rest of the MIDI notes on all tracks.
Save this as a MIDI file again, but under a different name.
Start a New BiaB songfile inside BiaB.
Open that MIDI file inside BiaB using the Import MIDI file command, set the 1st bar to be the bar after the MIDI intro bars, and start entering your chords etc. to build the songfile.
Use F5 key at first bar of Intro to silence the autoaccompaniment instruments so that just the MIDI instruments play.
Use F5 key again to unmute those instruments where your first chorus bar starts.
The MIDI should play its intro p to that bar, then the Style file you hace chosen for BiaB and that song should take over.
