I would recommend trying to deal with the moving black box as it highlights the chords, as when one can play in tempo, along with BiaB, it no longer represents a problem.
Use of Band in a Box over more than ten years time has really improved my musical abilities to keep time. Matter of fact, even during the first year of use just practicing along with BiaB, I soon noticed every single instance when other members of the live band lost or gained time. I don't play with them anymore.
