I had a run-in of sorts with a feller at a recording forum where I'm rather active and he was coming off as some kind of "purist" and dissing RealBand. I reacted the only way I know how, with a song. He's a blues slide player so now he's really mad at me!

Diss This!

Let me know what ya'll think.

Well personally I'm sick of guys referring to using realband as some sort of "cheating".... most who make these kind of comments see nothing wrong with their drum machines and synths, but diss RealBand stuff. Go figure!
I's not like I'm passing stuff off as my own playing either. I always let everyone know when I use a RealTrack or whatever. Oh well........... I got it out of my system. Thanks for the listen.

Very funny! Nice job. The same types often use midi clip, acid loops and such, we all have a unique view of reality. RB is a great tool

That's a hoot! Of course, I might have been one of those "dissers" before I got BIAB 2009 (ha, ha). In the end a good song is a good song and BIAB/RT helps us bring our songs to a more polished fruition. If someone wants to diss us, I fully understand -- but I am having too much fun to really worry about it.

THAT'S GREAT!

Among musicians who have heard of BIAB but don't own it, I've found that it has about the same cachet as Amway. My own friends sneer at it without listening to it. I even met one guy recently, a successful songwriter, who has it and uses it, but diss-misses its "cheesy sounds". Yeah. (He doesn't know about RB yet.)

Now when friends ask who did the drums on anything I show them--and they always do--I just smile . . .

SUPER.

Been there done that with BiaB. I’ve had friends that say BiaB is just junk! Then I’ll play them something done in BiaB and say me and my friends did this what do you thing and they’ll love it. Go figure!

BiaB, Realdrums, Realtracks, midi loops, acid loops, etc. are just tools for you to use if you wish. Embrace and enjoy them all.

I appreciate all of my "tools". Let the 'lectricity go out for a week, and even I would have with draw'ls. I may rely on technology a bit much these days, instead of getting sore fingers, but you know what, I don't really care. The quality of my music has improved so much since I had BIAB on floppy, it ain't even funny. I do the same as Poppa, I burn a track on CD, bring it to work and put it on, and watch their faces light up! When they say, geeze Gene, I didn't know you could play blues harp that good, I just smile, let it go for a minute, then tell them. You know what? Most of them are even more amazed. It's all good. Ignorance breeds criticism. As Neil Young said, ". . .So all you critics, sit alone, you're no better than me for what you've shown. . ."

Gene

You know what, I got so into the conversation, I totally forgot to play the song. Oh, that is sooo good!! so good.
Poor Levi, He just jealous.

Poppa. . . Poppa?. . .

I just listened again. It is #5 on the SC charts, and going up. Such a clever idea, well thought out. Just can't get the big grin off my face every time I play it. Damn, I wish I would have thought of that. Great production, by the way.

That was great, it really was.

Who did the female voice? What effects did you use on it?

Gary

I was just assuming it was MS Windows text reader program. You can pick a male or female voice.

Thanks fellers - I used an online voice from text - forget now where it was - I could find it if ya'll would like me to.
It was really not well thought out at all - It hit me in a mild fit of rage over someone being so stupid.
It charting in SoundClick was hilarious because for a while I was right behind the guy that torqued my rotisserie! Levi - I think he hit #1 today. Now he's diss'n me for not going to #1. The turd......

Anyway - pass it along and get me some chart movement - it's the principle of the thing!

Thanks again guys!!

Great jammin' tune. So for us nubees what instruments are real? Just the guitar and keyboard, plus vocals? Is everything else BIAB?

And please assure Biabi that she is real.
