Hey folks I am trying to upgrade my backing tracks using Real Tracks, however after using Nero 10 or CD Burner XP I get a "No Disk" message on my CD player. Using Real Band 13 I converted the files to Wave format as I know my stereo player won't play MP3,s. The part of Nero I chose said CD should play on any CD player. No such luck. Is my wave file choice wrong or do I need something special?.....Hank

Hank:
I suspect the "No Disk" message indicates that your computer isn't recognizing your CD drive. Try putting a commercial CD in it and see if that works.
I use Nero and .wav files to make CDs. You could also try opening Windows Explorer, navigating to your .wav file and double clicking on it to see if (say) Windows Media Player opens and plays the file.
Let us know what you find out. Someone here should be able to point you in the right direction.
Good luck! LLOYD S

I'm not using the programs you are using, but did you add CD meta text? Some burning programs allow this, but many (most?) CD players do not recognize the disc when you do that.

Thanks Lloyd & Matt Lloyd, It plays fine on my computer. It won't play on my Stereo CD player.
Matt, I didn't add any text other than a "Title" on Nero 10. Thanks for replying

This is an old problem, but since you are stuck, I will mention it. There are two types of CD-Rs marketed, one for music and one for data. The music ones allow a bit longer play, like 80 minutes, but otherwise they should function the same. How long is the play time of all your tracks?
Also, in Nero, when you make your menu selection, did you pick one that produced audio, not data, and closed the CD as opposed to leaving it open for more data to be added?
Just checking the obvious first...

Mat Thanks for sticking with me. The disk is Memorex high speed CD-RW 12X 700 MB 80 min. I only filled about 30 min. I don't think it was closed. I believe Nero calls it finalise....Hank

Right, you must finalize an audio CD, to my knowledge. Try that.

Also, when I burn any music CD, I do it at the SLOWEST burn speed. Sometimes that helps.

I believe Nero calls it finalise....Hank Two things: The CD player only recognizes "CDA" format, or Compact Disk Audio. You cannot just drag .wav files to the CD and store as data, that will play on your computer but NOT on your CD player. In Nero, you have to pick, "Burn an AUDIO CD". Second thing is that after you have filled the CD with the tunes, you MUST let Nero go through the "Finalization" routine before the disk will play on a CD player. --Mac

Matt & LLoyd I didn't finalize disk so will definitely do that. As for burning speed both burners I used said 10X. Is this an ok speed? Seems I had no choice. Could be wrong about that.
Mac Starting back with my tunes still as separate tracks, what format should I use to produce the stereo single track? Real Band gives me these options under the audio heading.
1/ Merge audio and VSTi/DXi to stereo wave file 2/ Merge audio and VSTi/DXi to compressed file 2/ Merge audio and VSTi/DXi to WMA file
thanks all...Hank

Thanks Mac I had been doing that. Nice to know for sure. I just finished trying the burn over on Nero 10. I saw no opportunity to finalize the burn but a small window opened stating that not all CD players will play W-R disks & to us R disks so will go shopping tomorrow if I get a chance. thanks again....Hank
