Can't figure out why Real Drums suddenly stops generating at bar 111.5 of a 116 bar song (with fade starting at 114) All midi tracks generate to the end. Drums used Country Swing. Also tried JazzBrushes. Tempo 135 Have tried "Whole Song" and "Bar to Bar", Generate 2 bar ending both checked, unchecked. Chord Page filled in. Damn new fangled Rds

The fade may be working harder on the raw realdrums than the other tracks. Check the waveform view to see.
Try not invoking the pgmusic destructive gainchange fade until after the mixdown to stereo track, then invoke the fade on that overall track to see.

Sorry Mac, I think "fade" was the wrong term - I meant just the added midi note durations.
Looking at the drum wave it looks as if it has been cut off in mid cymbal. I created these RD parts at least a half a dozen times, and each time it was cut off at the same place. I've even tried them on different tracks - same thing. None of the other tracks are cut off.

Is the last MIDI note in the sequence perhaps a hold and it is entered in or about the same place where the drums cutoff? The program may be calling the last note the End of Song and not the last barline.
Extend the song out a bar and add one MIDI note on any track at the last beat of that bar, then redo the drums and see what happens.
That last MIDI note can be edited off after mixdown...

MAC: Still no joy - I went back through the midi events for every channel - re-channeled all midi tracks - no anomalies.
From what do the RDs take their generating cue - from midi drums channel 10? MDs go to bar 114 and every time the RDs pull up short at 109:04:xx.
Anyway - I went back to BIAB and generated the RDs there and it worked like a charm, rendered to WAV and imported to PT12(10).
Still, it would be nice to solve the problem - Could it be a Drive space issue (2 gig free approx on the PT audio Temp disc). PT is on C:, TEMP on D:, RDs under C:\BB. 2 gig should be enough to assemble 3-4 mins of RDs???
Cheers

Figure 10mb/minute for each 16.44.1 stereo wav track...
I doubt if its the temp drive, though, there have been other reports of RealBand cutting things off like that. Likely some sort of bug or Settings bug.

I am having the same problem. The real drums stop 1/3 the way through the song regardless whether you set a range or not.

Update. It all depends on which drums you select. About 1/2 that I tried filled the complete track, others varying lengths. Very disappointing that the styles I need and paid extra for do not work but the ones that do not fit the song do.

Why bust your head over something like this? Every program has it's little weird things, just work around it. Annoying yes, disappointing to the point of distraction, no. It's an intellectual exercise sure and it would be nice to know what's causing it. If it really bothers you, email the midi file along with the mp3 of the resulting problem and your detailed report to tech support. But just to get the work done, generate the drum track a few bars longer than the song and cut it to suit. I do a lot of that for endings anyway. One time I wanted a basic cymbal splash for the ending and found one in the middle of the tune, highlighted it, copied it at the end. Endings and holds are the main weaknesses in the Real Tracks/Drums right now because they're audio files and can't be manipulated as easily as midi parts. Peter has said many times they're working on it.

I'm not experiencing such realdrums shortages. Am thinking that this has got to be something to do with each different PC or OS or the like, a tweak somewhere or perhaps a driver issue.

I understand the spirit of what you are saying, however the issue is the generated Real Drums only make it 1/3 to 1/2 through the song.

Well, I understand that.
But what I'm saying is that I haven't experienced the shortened realdrums here, or at least not yet, and that it must be something in a setting or setup somewhere that is causing this.
We need to find out what it is.
I reported my findings here because it may indeed become a helpful clue somewhere along the chase.

So far for me it has not recurred to the degree it did. Yes, sometimes the RDs I have do not do proper endings. Since my initial post, there have been no further shortcomings. Because my computer has limited RAM available I am careful not to allow too many temp files to build up before I save the project I'm working on. Sometimes I even reboot the program after saving just to make sure I don't over stress my system. So far so good.
Yup it's good to let go if you can't figure a problem out, but if it is a software setting causing the problem, as Mac says "we need to find out." IMO my problem was caused by system resources so now I am more careful working within them.
Cheers

One of the Real Drums style (Country Shuffle) that I could not get to totally fill a track the other night was used on a different song and had no problems whatsoever. In fact I generated multiple drum tracks and used Adobe Audition to comp together a drum track. All generated tracks were of the proper length. This makes me think that whatever Real Drums takes its cure from may hold the answer.

Jazz, Funk & World (Sets 468-475):
Our new jazz, funk & blues RealTracks include a groovin’ collection of RealTracks and RealDrums! These include more requested “soul jazz” RealTracks featuring artists Neil Swainson (bass), Charles Treadway (organ), Brent Mason (guitar), and Wes Little (drums). There are new “smooth jazz” styles (4), which include a RealTracks first: muted trumpet, as well as slick new smooth jazz brushes options for drums. Blues lovers will be thrilled—there are more “classic acoustic blues” styles, including guitar (5), bass (4), and drums (10) with blues master Colin Linden, featuring understated and tasty background acoustic soloing, plus brushes drums and acoustic bass. There are also new electric blues RealTracks, including electric blues with PG favorite Johnny Hiland (3) and soulful electric slide guitar from Colin Linden (4). If you love funk & gospel, there are great new options this year, including gospel organ (3) from Charles Treadway, as well as new funk, tango, and rock ’n’ roll drums (3) and bass (1). And for big, bold arrangements, we have uptempo soul horns (4) featuring a three-part hip horn section with options for a full mix or stems of each individual horn — plus an accompanying rhythm section (4) of drums, bass, guitar, and electric piano!
Rock & Pop (Sets 476–482):
Our new rock & pop RealTracks bring a powerful mix of requested favorites, fresh genres, and modern chart-inspired styles! We have more of our popular “Producer Layered Acoustic Guitars (15)” featuring Band-in-a-Box favorite Brent Mason. We’ve continued our much-requested disco styles (10), and added new Celtic guitar (5) with a more basic, accessible approach than our previous Drop-D or DADGAD offerings. There are also highly requested yacht rock styles (17), inspired by the smooth, polished soft-rock sound of the late ’70s and early ’80s — laid-back grooves, silky electric pianos, warm textures, elegant harmonic movement, and pristine production aesthetics. Fans of heavier styles will love our new glam metal (13), capturing the flashy, high-energy sound of ’80s arena-ready guitar rock. We also have a set of rootsy modern-folk rock (18), with a warm, organic sound combining contemporary folk textures and driving acoustic strumming. And we’ve added lots of new modern pop styles (16) — the kinds of sounds you’re hearing on the radio today, featuring exciting new drums, synths, and cutting-edge RealTracks arrangements.
Country, & Americana (Sets 483–488):
Our new country & Americana RealTracks deliver a rich collection of acoustic, electric, and roots-inspired styles! We have new country pop (9) with legendary guitarist Brent Mason. There is also a potpourri (14) of bouzouki, guitars, banjo, and more, perfect for adding texture and character to contemporary acoustic arrangements. We’ve added funky country guitar (5) with PG favorite Brent Mason, along with classic pedal steel styles (5) featuring steel great Doug Jernigan. There are more country songwriter styles (8) that provide intimate, rootsy foundations for storytelling and modern Americana writing. Finally, we have “background soloing” acoustic guitar (12) with Brent Mason — simpler, but still very tasty acoustic lines designed to sit beautifully behind vocals or act as a subtle standalone solo part.
Check out all the 202 new RealTracks (in sets 468-488)!
