Quick question, I've put together a song using a RealTrack that has a Cello in it. The cello in the odd place plays some notes that I don't like. I know I can't change whats been recorded but can I change it to play an alternative version at that point or on that chord? RealTracks have multiple arrangements I understand so when they are played they will sound varied. Am I right? And can I change an instrument to play an alternative arrangement on any given chord being played?

Perhaps the easiest way would be to take the song into RealBand, where you can regenerate parts of a track.

...can I change an instrument to play an alternative arrangement on any given chord being played? No, in BIAB, but Yes in RB. This is on the BIAB wishlist for 2014.

In Realband there's also a function called "Multiriff". This will allow you to generate multiple Cello tracks and you can compile a master track by copying and pasting from the different tracks. I often use this feature.
Alternatively, simply generate a number of Cello tracks and pick out the bits you want or, as others have already said, regenerate the region you want to change.

NO... but there is a work around that I use... two actually. 1. Go to Real Band and open it up there. Listen to the track and if it is 95% good but has notes that don't work in certain areas, simply click the track below it and render the exact same real track again. It will play similar parts but many parts will be different. I use this a lot. In this song... http://soundclick.com/share.cfm?id=11971116 The Best Christmas, I did that very thing.... using 3 piano tracks and 5 guitar tracks for the fills and solos you hear....  I use Sonar for mixing 2. I use this often as well..... if I get a decent track and can not envelope that part out.... or the part I really want has the occasional "off note" in it, I use Melodyne Editor to fix the note.....editing the audio to move the note to where I want.... just like editing midi.

I have found that I can keep the project in BiaB sometimes when there are clunkers in a certain RealTrack by checking first to see where along the Chord Grid those clunkers occur.
If, for example, they seem to only happen when there is a Dom7 chord entered, I will try editing the Dom7 chords to be "straight" Major Chords, no 7, then unfreeze and regenerating just the offending Realtrack.
If it yields a Cello part that you can use, Freeze the Cello track and go back and turn those accompaniment chords into Dom7s again.
Also, if you don't like a certain pick for the arrangement of what a RealTrack plays, you can sometimes get a different performance by simply ReGenerating that RealTrack. Try three or four ReGenerations.
Sometimes it takes both of the above.
