I've been a facebook user for a few years now and I don't get on with it. Thinking of coming off in some way. I've been posting some of my songs for example - not many - 3-4 this year. Mostly met with absolute silence while facebook comments and posts chunter on for everyone else. Just wondering how people who use Facebook get on with sharing their music? Do you find you get comments, likes or like me mostly ignored? Of course it all depends on what friends you have in your facebook to start with.

Paul:
Just my observation but if you post things on Facebook, I wouldn't do so with any expectations. I often check out FB and frequently listen to posted songs and videos. However, I seldom leave a 'comment' and never hit the 'like' button.
I would guess there are many others who do likewise. Don't be discouraged. If you're happy with what you're posting, keep posting it, knowing there will be people enjoying it.
Good luck! LLOYD S

I had a few good friends comment on a song or two on facebook, but for the most part they just took a listen and went on looking at funny post and family pics. Even if i post music on soundcloud or sound click i get a few comments but nothing to compare to the listens. Most people just don't take the time.
If folks are enjoying it i guess that is the purpose.

Paul,
1st of all I use FB as a "business" page, and yes I also post music, but in video form as that I have found gets much more attention than asking someone to listen to your latest.
But more than anything else I use FB to direct people/likes to my Youtube Channel and upcoming live performances, and of late to direct them to my Streetjelly sets on the web.
Let me also add that I had to be dragged by the feet to get on FB but when I found that I could get a business page it made all the difference, and now I am glad I did. I have likes from all over the world who very often share a clip or post which helps me promote my live gigs. The key to me anyway was the "business page" and not the one with all the "BS (personal opinion) friends".
Let me also ad that I do promote the page or particular post from time to time with FB ads.
Hope this gives you something to think about, in a good way.
Merry Christmas, going eat some good old Louisiana Turdukin!
Later,

I think a lot of that has to do with the fact that many people view facebook on mobile phones with limited data. i know i certainly don't click on any videos because i want to conserve bandwidth

Do you find you get comments, likes or like me mostly ignored? Of course it all depends on what friends you have in your facebook to start with. I don't use Facebook, but I would advise you that there is no way of telling whether or not the ones with all the "likes" and hits and etc. are honest hits - or "loaded" by the user, either via some use of humans or even 'bots. Its the Internet. A big carnival where Truth does not mean all that much. --Mac
