Hi Kevin,

What you want to do can be accomplished using SYSEX Commands, see page 15 of the SD2 manual for details.

Quote:

GM MIDI RX CHANNEL ASSIGN
F0H 26H 7BH 12H 00H GMPart Chan F7H
Chan = 00H-20H, 20H=OFF
GMpart 00H-1FH

However, if you are wanting to do this with Band in a Box, I know of no way to send SYSEX commands such as this from within BB at this time.

RealBand or PowerTracks can send SYSEX commands, it should be possible to do so from them, although it may be rather hairy to get thru that learning curve with the Ketron.

On the other hand, you may be able to change the order of your MIDI Daisy Chain, depending upon what the other MIDI device is and if it has internal commands and menus that would allow you to send to it first, then filter the data that comes out of its MIDI Out (Not Thru) such that the offending channel does not get sent to the Ketron. This may be a good way to go for it. If your "other synth" is perhaps a fullblown MIDI Keyboard, that's the way I'd try things first, consult the manual for that keyboard to see if you can filter channels between the MIDI In and the MIDI Out, most good full-featured keyboards can do that.

Finally, sometimes, in Live situations, I just let both synths fire at once and let them "layer" - which can sound really lush. Like getting twice as many violinists for the price of the one section.
