just curious about his discipline, where he went to school, hobbies, instruments he plays, favourite music genre, etc. all i know about him is he is a canadian (he can't help that) and he walked backwards to school as a lad.

The word on the street (I so close to PG Music that I pick up my updates for PT) is that he was a medical doctor (physician). Someone once told me he was a PhD in music here at the University of Victoria, but a better source (my pianist/piano rebuilder friend) indicated that he was a physician. Since PhD's are often referred to as "docs" this may be the source of the confusion.

His brother the guitarist, lives on Pender Island, BC. With Google maps, you can find both quite easily.

A search of Peter Gannon yields plenty of hits for a dentist and a movie actor.

Know something? I think you could be right! I don't remember the context now... Short term memory's always the first to go.

The problem with the name Peter Gannon, is that it's quite common.

I googled it, and found a Roman Catholic priest ordained in 1901, a dentist, a political aid in NY, an engineer in Montana that passed away recently, a Franciscan Friar that passed away 21 May 09 in Rhode Island, a movie actor, among others.

I'm sticking with the MD theory until I check around town some more.

Some time ago on this forum (IIRC) a long time user of BIAB ordered one of the first versions from a fledgling PG Music, and when he received his credit card statement the payee was a medical practice. And I'm sure that Peter corrected him, saying he was a dentist, not a medical practitioner.

Maybe you've thought of this and maybe not. Peter reads this Forum and in fact replied to a poster a day or so ago. I'm sure if he had wanted everyone to know his background he would have chimed in here. To me, to openly search and post your results here is to invade his privacy.

As far as I am concerned, to quote a popular phrase about Eric Clapton, Peter Gannon is 'god'. (note the small 'g' for those God fearing people)
