I know I asked this a couple of years back. I took ZZjazz & made it use a fretless bass & a Rhoades. Now I can't get back to a acoustic bass & piano. I have reset factory settings over & over. I looked at the prefs= Over rides/ checked everything off. I deleted the toolbar8 file. As I recall there was some easy work around. Count to ten while you rub your belly. No wait that wasn't it either. The only odd thing was when I tried to resave the instruments under edit current style it said there were too many for a Mac or something? 300 & I had more? Of course,,,,, I'm running a pc not a Mac. It hasn't done this for ages. The file I'm working with is a file (Home for the Holidays) that I downloaded.

Hi TGV

Perhaps re-installing the styles or BIAB over the existing one would help

I always keep a copy of the original style/song and then make another save of the altered style - "song" Mod

Hi TGV,

Is the fretless bass and rhodes a MIDI patch?

irst, check out the style with a New song, just hit New and then load the style, hit play and listen. If the Rhodes and Fretless are not there, then you Saved with Patches and Harmony for just that song. You can revisit Save with Patches and Harmony and reassign the instruments for that song if you like. Resave. if they are still there, it is likely that you edited the Style file, read on.

If it is, and it is loading with the Style, try opening the Style in the Style Editor and take a look at which instrument Patches are being picked, if they show up as Fretless and Rhodes EP, you can change them back to Grand Piano and Acoustic Bass there, then Save and exit.

Another way to put things back to square one would be to reinstall your copy of BB right overtop of itself, which will reinstall all the included pgmusic styles again. Check to make sure you have the latest update for the version installed afterwards, and if not, hit the Update Page and download and install that also.

TIP: When editing existing styles, good idea to save your edit under a new name so you preserve the original style and its settings. Ex: zzjazz might be named, zjazep for zzjazz w/electric piano or something like that. Then yoyu can add it to your User Styles at the bottom of the Stylepicker.

Mac saves the day again! All is well again. I had received the file with all the patches saved. I guess I don't understand the relationship between assigning instruments on the tool bar vs. assigning them via the style editor vs saving with designated patches. I had never even noticed the patch list!!! I thought reassigning them via the style editor was the reassigning of the patch list. For one song I still get a "Mac only allows 400 patterns" thing when using the style editor on this one song. I do not think this is referring to you personally but to a computer which I do not use! Could be wrong though! Back to more reading of the help files. Thanks a ton.

Edit the bar settings by clicking on the bar and press F5. Select the part the RT is on and using the drop down, mute the part. Use the same procedure to unmute and mute as desired.
