Carlos, nice pics! I particularly like the look of your vid cam. Considering getting a new one now too - mine records to microcassette (HD). I saw a nice Sony in a store here recently that records to internal hard drive. Any suggestions?

Maybe he could change his name to Jack and we could say hi-jack.

MY pic, which Mac sorted out 'cause' Picassa wouldn't show the pic on the board, is sitting on a 100% piece of 8 foot cherry wood, the top of my piano.

If you want advice on video cameras, you start a thread. And call it the Sam wants a video camera. Be vague so you get lots of spurious advice.

OMG! Sorry, John

Either it was a senior moment or I'm going blond. This had me puzzled enough to wake up in the middle of the night and take another look at it. What looked like a skateboard is in the fact the wings of the lid of the box!

Nice Joanna tho!

Sam, my camcorder is a Sony Handycam DCR-SR85 SD (Standard Definition) with hybrid storage on 60 GB hard disk and Stick Pro Duo card. Carl Zeiss 25x Optical Zoom, wide screen for HDT 1920x1080 resolution, 16:9 and normal 4:3. I am very satisfied with it although at purchase time I was dreaming about a HD like this Sony advanced model but it was far out of my budget reach. I like my cam mainly because it bring an very acceptable image quality, great and smooth opt. zoom, TONS of storage, good performance at low light, double storage, dedicated socket for external microphone or light, steady image stabilizer ideal for alcoholic trembling hands . I definitely could recomend it or similar Sony hard disk camcorder, but this is a so widespread theme, lot of brands and models! open a related thread maybe can help better. good luck ...

Sam, I'm glad you figured out that the "skateboard" is simply the side of the box with the flaps extended.

I had a double-take on that picture too when I first saw it!

Sam I got a nice jvc 30 gb hard drive camcorder last xmas for £193 + £30 cashback, so in all it only cost £163. Standard format as high defination are a lot more expensive.

Love it.

I have a quick question Carlos, in your 4th picture I see what looks like an I-Lok USB Dongle....does the BIAB HDD need one of those to run?!

Never, no dongles. I had my usb version going between an Acer netbook (ran fine), a Sony laptop which is long in the tooth, (ran fine), and a screaming HP media Vista 64 box, (ran 20 percent faster). That said the faster part does not matter anymore, the load and process times have dropped to just a few seconds.

Not at all.

Matter of fact, Band in a Box does not even need to write to the windows registry at all, and it doesn't.

Only the Fonts need be installed via Registry Install.

No dongles, no user codes, none of that jazz for BiaB, just plug 'n play, baby!

Carlos must have something else that requires that dongle.

OK, thanks for the info folks! I had some bad experiences with Steinberg, Cubase, and their replacement warranty, and vowed to never get involved with that type of garbage again!

I am now a user of Studio One, and am flat out loving it!

Thanks again!
