I leave the Bass and Drums centered and just RightClick on the MIDI Bass and select a RealTrack suitable for the target song. RealDrums, I let the RealDrums picker choose them automatically.

Have never had a problem with mix, nor reverb issues, I leave that as it was in the MIDI version for the most part.

Bass, I don't like to Pan because when centered it yields the most power for the stereo system, desirable for the bass part and besides that, it is very hard for the human ear to tell the direction of the lower frequencies anyway. That's why you can place a subwoofer anywhere in the room.

Drums, I leave them centered because the RealDrums were recorded in stereo with overheads working and that yields the kind of sound I'm after as-is.

There should not be much need for a lot of mix tweaking when using the RealTracks and RealDrums. If you find that to be the case, it may be due to your RealDrums/RealTracks global amplitude settings. I use the defaults here and they work just fine.
