First thing to try is a reboot of the computer and see if it doesn't work as it should.
If using Vista or Win7, it may be a UAC issue or it might be that you installed pt to the Program Files folder, evidently these two newer operating systems don't like to let programs that write to the Programs File do that anymore. Answer for that one is to move your pt folder out of Program Files and to C drive.
