RealTracks Artist Bio: Victor Simon

Growing up as the son of a prominent member of the renowned musical family "Los Hermanos Simón," Victor Simon was immersed into the world of music from an early age. As a child, Víctor discovered a passion for the piano and enrolled in the Nicolás Segundo Gennero Music School.

Victor's musical ability garnered recognition on both provincial and national stages. His was awarded multiple prizes including Best Solo Performance from the National Festival of Music, Buenos Aires; Prize Martin-Fierro and First Prize at the National Festival in Cordoba.

Having graduated in Composition and Piano from the National University of Córdoba, Victor delved into a diverse array of projects. He founded and directed the Ensemble Montreal Tango, is the creatd, arranged, composed and performed “TangOriental” with musicians from Middle Eastern countries. Victor also regularly tours with Forever Tango, Ballet Folklórico Latinoamericano, Amador, and Tangueros del Sur. Beyond his piano performances, Victor's influence extends to arranging and directing music for various artists.

In recent years, Victor has been actively involved in the Folklore Department at the National University of the Arts in Buenos Aires. Within this role, he has taken on the responsibilities of directing and arranging for the Popular Orchestra. Additionally, Victor serves as the pianist for the folk dance, zapateo, and tango classes within the Bachelor's Degree in Folklore program. He also holds the position of Professor for the subject of Musicality for Tango Dancers. Beyond academic commitments, Victor conducts educational concerts and workshops centered around Argentine popular music. His expertise extends globally, as he offers seminars on musicality for tango dancers in both North America and Europe.
